Housing

SBAAZ provides limited transitional housing for adults 18 and over. The SBAAZ housing units are shared. They are open to anyone with a disability. However, persons with Spina Bifida may receive priority placement. It is partially funded by both the City of Phoenix and HUD.

The Transitional Learning Center (TLC) will soon be renovated to facilitate families visiting the valley for surgeries and/or CRS clinics. We plan on having the capacity of four to five families at a time stay for free while coming to the valley for services. These rooms will be fully furnished and each will have a private bathroom. There will be common areas which will include a living room, kitchen, laundry room and library.

We hope to make these available starting in the fall of 2009. If you know of anyone who would like to donate furniture, appliances or professional services to renovate these facilities, please call 602.274.3323 or email ofNofice@sbmoreaaz.ospamrg.

It is our hope to help those families and/or individuals with Spina Bifida coming to the valley for services to be able to feel more relaxed in a comfortable environment with multiple resources close by and not have to worry about hotel bills.

We are currently looking for funding to staff the transitional living center. If you would like to help please make a donation.
